Etpa – The company

Etpa is a designated European Power Exchange for the short-term electricity market. Our state-of-the-art platform is a key enabler for the transition to renewable energy. We provide access to spot-trading to many new players in the market, including battery companies, energy management systems, asset owners and utility companies.

We outperform our competitors in terms of speed, cash management, scalability, cost and IT connectivity. Our current portfolio of exchanges includes Intraday (XBID), Congestion management (GOPACS) and day after trading (Ex-Post). We are expanding our geography and products, and are currently in the process of expanding our product offering to auctions.

Your Role

As Product Owner for our new auctioning platform, you are responsible for transforming business process requirements into actionable tasks for our development team. You will need to be able to thoroughly understand the complex European business process regarding market coupling, particularly for auctioning. Your key responsibility will be to prioritize these requirements and maintain a transparent product roadmap that guides the development process. You will enjoy building and structuring the platform and are expected to take a proactive role in its development.

Responsibilities:

• Define the Minimum Viable Product (MVP) for our auctioning platform and lead the execution.
• Partner with the auction program manager and CTO to integrate feedback into the product roadmap, negotiating trade-offs between conflicting priorities.
• Dive deep into European market processes and our IT platform to translate business requirements into clear tasks for the development team.
• Collaborate daily with team members and stakeholders to clarify business needs, remove obstacles, and ensure alignment on the product strategy.
• Guide the team in implementing the roadmap and support the Agile ceremonies for smooth execution.
• Ensure user stories are well-defined and manageable for developers of varying experience levels.

Who are we looking for?

• A Master’s degree in Engineering or IT.
• At least 4+ years of experience in product or project management.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum or Kanban) and working within development teams.
• Hands-on, self-organized, and communicative, with the ability to thrive in a startup/scale-up environment.
• Highlevel understanding of DDD, TDD, and event sourcing, with some programming knowledge and experience working with developers.
• Experience with complex IT systems and trading in the energy sector is a plus.
• Strong grasp of digital technologies and data management, capable of following technical discussions and ensuring requirements are met.
• Excellent collaboration skills, comfortable working with business and technical teams.
• A valid EU work permit is required.
